PASS Wears Pink
Pink Shirt Day is a special day dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and promoting kindness, empathy, and inclusivity in our communities. On this day, people across the world wear pink shirts to show solidarity with those who have experienced bullying and to support efforts to prevent it.
Our program proudly joined in the celebration of Pink Shirt Day by spreading the message of kindness and respect.
Here are a few things we learned (or refreshed our memory on): The Pink Shirt Day has its origins in 2007, when two high school students in Canada took a stand after a fellow student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. They organized a grassroots movement by encouraging their classmates to wear pink in support of the student. This simple act sparked a global movement, inspiring millions to take part in standing against bullying.
Pink Shirt Day is not just about wearing a color; it’s about creating a culture of acceptance and understanding and that is what PASS stands for! It reminds us that small acts of kindness and standing up for others can make a big difference in building a supportive and welcoming environment for all. Whether it’s at PASS, in the workplace, or within our neighborhoods, we all have a role to play in ensuring everyone feels valued and respected.
By supporting Pink Shirt Day, we show our commitment to standing up against bullying, fostering kindness, and promoting a world where everyone can feel safe and appreciated. Let’s continue to spread positivity and create spaces where kindness thrives!
