The Independent Alex

Alex's readiness to work is truly remarkable, as he consistently reaches out to the social enterprise Lead to confirm his availability.
He takes particular pleasure in office tasks and thrives in a quiet working environment, where he demonstrates unwavering dedication to "getting the job done."

As a keen observer, Alex continuously learns from his peers, striving to improve his skills and impress his job coaches and employers.
He eagerly tries out new methods and techniques, remaining receptive to feedback.

However, Alex's greatest source of pride comes from his independence and ability to solve problems “all by himself”.

Hobbies

Alex is a big gamer, and one of his favorite games is Super Mario, which he proves every Halloween by rocking the Mario costume. He also enjoys maps, especially spending time on Google Maps.
Alex is really into trains, and he enjoys taking SkyTrain rides. Additionally, he loves going to… malls.
But Alex also has a talent for putting together jigsaw puzzles, particularly enjoying the challenge of 500-piece ones, though he's not one to shy away from a 1000-piece challenge either.
Social Enterprise

Alex has discovered his happy place within the walls of our social enterprise. He eagerly seeks out shifts and once assigned, he works tirelessly with focus and motivation.
His favorite tasks include assembling boxes and packaging chocolate bars for The Good Chocolatier, as well as sorting jewelry for our esteemed partner, SWISSBO.
Additionally, Alex is always ready to assist with candle preparation, magnet making, baking, and folding beeswax wraps.
Employment Program

Alex dedicates his time weekly to volunteering at the Canucks Autism Network, where he engages in various tasks such as folding t-shirts, labeling, and assisting with office duties like laminating, gluing, and cutting.
Additionally, Alex has previous volunteer experience at the Canucks Place Children's Hospice, where he assisted with scanning, saving, and laminating documents, as well as photocopying.
