Oshen

Oshen’s Friendly World

There are few (if any?) tasks within our social enterprise that Oshen cannot tackle.

Equipped with brilliant fine motor skills, Oshen approaches his work with a passion and dedication that sets him apart. His organizational skills are truly remarkable, effortlessly managing PASS Marketplace’s inventory with precision and efficiency.

It's a joy to observe Oshen at work and his infectious enthusiasm evident in the smile on his face and the dance of his feet.

Beyond his exceptional abilities, Oshen brings a sense of humor and joy to our workplace, brightening each day with his presence. We find ourselves learning from him daily, grateful for the example he sets and the positivity he infuses into our team.

  • Hobbies

Oshen is a fun-loving, friendly young man whose love for life shines through in everything he does.

Whether it's losing himself in the magic of movies, or in the colorful world of DC comics, Oshen's passion knows no bounds.

Oshen is also a natural athlete, excelling in physical activities. He takes to the ice regularly, playing hockey for Canucks Autism Network. And when he's not scoring goals on the rink, you can find him swimming laps at the swimming pool.
In every aspect of his life, Oshen embodies the spirit of joy and determination.

  • Social Enterprise

Oshen is no doubt the MVP of PASS Marketplace. Serving as a trusted aide to the social enterprise Lead, he meticulously manages inventory and upholds quality standards.

Oshen will catch any mistake, regardless of whether it's made by his coworker, job coach, or … his boss.

Beyond his diverse skill set, which includes candle making, labeling, packaging, and magnet crafting, Oshen possesses the knowledge of the workshop's tools, adeptly troubleshooting and maintaining them as necessary. Additionally, he's proficient in handling administrative tasks such as invoice completion.

  • Employment Program

Oshen loves to work, and he is great at it. Through the PASS Employment Program, he has tackled some of the most demanding tasks, showcasing remarkable focus and exceptional fine motor skills.
At Le Meadows, he meticulously labels jam jars with great precision and efficiency, consistently surpassing his own record of perfectly labeled jars week after week.

In addition to his paid employment, Oshen volunteers at the Neighborhood House, where he serves food to seniors, and at Food Stash, dedicating his time to sorting food and ensuring that only the best quality food is kept for food programs.

Work hard, be kind, dream on.

Oshen considers the job done only when every aspect of the task has been completed. For instance, packaging chocolate bars for The Good Chocolatier involves several precise steps: folding the box, inserting the bar, closing the box; ensuring the correct date is set on the best-before labelling gun; applying best-before stickers; folding a larger box, inserting 12 bars (front facing) to the outer box, closing it; and marking the chocolate flavor on the lid.
Once all bars are packaged, Oshen records the count on a paper inventory sheet and enters this data into an Excel file. Moreover, he insists on personally bringing the chocolates to the main entrance, to make sure that clients receive them IMMEDIATELY at pickup time. Only then Oshen considers the job complete—promptly asking about the next batch.
