Philip is an autistic young man brimming with strength, optimism, and boundless energy.
Philip eagerly takes on any work task, anticipating his upcoming work shift throughout the week.

Motivated by both the fulfillment of completing tasks and the camaraderie of the workspace, Philip thrives in working environments enjoying the social aspect of contributing to the community.

If you ever find yourself at the Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, you might catch a glimpse of Philip at Book'mark, the library's store. With a wide smile on his face, Philip diligently sorts, organizes, and assists in selling books at the curbside sale.

Witnessing Philip in action, it becomes clear why our mission is to seek out more opportunities for him to shine and impress.

  • Hobbies

    Philip is quite the athlete, with a particular love for team sports, hockey being his favorite, as he plays for the Canucks Autism Network.

    He also enjoys playing baseball and soccer. Philip finds pleasure in going to the gym and challenging himself on the treadmill, elliptical, and rowing machine.

    Additionally, Philip has a passion for energetic music. One might even call him a … Swiftie.

  • Social Enterprise

    Philip is a standout The Good Chocolatier employee, whose enthusiasm is unmatched!

    His responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from labeling pouches. folding and stamping boxes, to accepting online orders, and preparing shipments.

    Beyond his TGC role, Philip also contributes to our social enterprise by assisting in candle preparation, assembling magnets and ornaments, and sorting jewelry for our amazing partner, SWISSBO.

  • Employment Program

    Philip's resume is genuinely impressive. At Greens Organic Market, he stocked shelves and front-faced products. He worked as a kitchen assistant at Le Meadows, and he efficiently restocked shelves and bins, at NADA Zero Waste. He performed cleaning duties at Sweetery Cafe and a film studio. Additionally, his roles as a dishwasher and kitchen hand at White Spot show his flexibility and versatility. Philip's involvement in our dog walking services, as well as his volunteer work at Kiwassa Neighborhood House and Book'mark - the VPL's store, further exemplify his commitment to community engagement. So, clearly, we didn’t exaggerate when we said Philip was impressive!
