J.A. Conquers the World!
We're thrilled to share that J.A.'s work is being exhibited at the United Nations this spring!
As part of Perceptions of Sentience, a group exhibition celebrating World Autism Acceptance Day, J.A.'s painting Second Movement will be on view at UN headquarters in New York from April 1 to June 13, 2025. Curated to explore neurodiverse perspectives on mental health and environmental consciousness, this powerful show includes 24 artists from around the world. J.A. is proud to represent Vancouver as the city’s only featured artist.
This marks J.A.'s second recognition by the UN—his artwork Victory was previously selected for the official Autism Acceptance postage stamp in 2012. Learn more about the exhibition here: Perceptions of Sentience.
Meanwhile, back home, J.A. recently earned top honors at a taekwondo tournament in Richmond, taking 1st place in patterns, 2nd in basics, and 3rd in both para-taekwondo dance and self-defense. He also got the 3rd Dan of taekwondo black belt which showcases high-level expertise and requires the ability to instruct beginners.
Let’s hear it for J.A. on the global and local stage!
