Connecting, Sharing, and Growing
April has been a busy and exciting month for PASS as we hit the road to attend several local transition fairs, connecting with families, community partners, and future PASS members!
On April 11th, we were proud to take part in the Burnaby Central Secondary Transition Fair: A Path Forward. It was an inspiring day where we met some amazing families and had the chance to learn about other organizations doing great work in the community—like Curiko, a group that creates and connects people to meaningful experiences through exploration and learning.
On April 15th, we attended the Catholic School Transition Fair: Planning for Post High School Life. Our very own Andrea gave a fantastic presentation about PASS, sharing how we support young autistic adults in their journey toward independence and fulfillment. We also had the chance to chat with fellow organizations such as PosAbilities, DDA, Jobs West, CLBC, and L'Arche, and enjoyed some great conversations about collaboration and community support.
On April 23rd, PASS participated in the Richmond Transition Fair, where we once again connected with wonderful families, potential new PASS members, and service providers. It was a lively and energetic day filled with conversation—and, of course, we were happy to hand out pamphlets, bookmarks, and candy to help spread the word about the great work happening at PASS.
We wrapped up the month at the Social Value Trade Show at the Convention Centre on Friday, April 25th. The event was hosted by Destination Vancouver in partnership with Buy Social Canada and Indigenous Tourism BC.
PASS’s own Gabby and Philip proudly represented us, selling handmade gifts from the PASS Marketplace, handing out pamphlets, and sharing stories about our social enterprise and employment program.
These outreach events are such an important part of building relationships and raising awareness about the services we offer. We’re excited about the connections we made and look forward to continuing the conversation with the families and organizations we met.
