National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
This year, we celebrated National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in a meaningful and engaging way with a special Music Therapy Class. Our members had the privilege of learning from Christina, who shared her Métis heritage with us and helped deepen our understanding of this important day.
Christina taught us about the significance of her Métis Sash and explained why wearing orange shirts is a powerful symbol of remembrance and solidarity. She also introduced us to the drum, a central element in Métis culture, and guided us through a song where we played and sang together.
It was a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved. The class provided an opportunity to reflect, learn, and connect through music and storytelling. We’re grateful to Christina for her time and for sharing her culture with our members in such a meaningful way.
