INCLUSION Art Show by posAbilities is a two-day event where people with disabilities are celebrated for their talent, creativity, and craftsmanship. But it is also so much more than an art show. It is a place to meet, chat, exchange stories about art or anything else, and connect with others. It is a place where disabled people can showcase something they made or helped create, and where visitors can purchase affordable, original art.
Of course, non-disabled folks are welcome too, and more than welcome to join in! But let's be honest: these two days are not about them for once. 😉
This year, PASS took part in the show in many different ways! We presented artwork by individual artists as well as group projects. We came as admirers of art and craftsmanship, and we proudly cheered on our own J.A., who participated as an individual artist this year and was even featured in the INCLUSION Art Show media kit!
We also volunteered at the coffee and tea station and had our own table where we sold some of our bestsellers, along with a few new items that turned out to be a real hit! (check out so-mmunity store for our new collection!)
And now for some numbers worth celebrating:
We made more from sales than last year (yay!).
We sold more artwork than ever before (over 30 pieces!)
We sold art of more members than in previous years.
Some of our artwork found new homes with people we already knew. A big thank-you to our staff, former staff, friends, and families for your support! But what makes us especially happy is that most of our artwork was purchased by people we had never met before. To us, that's a huge success!
We are happy, excited, and incredibly proud. And now it's your turn to feel proud too! Take a look at these wonderful photos of our members creating their art, visiting the show, connecting with others, and volunteering.
What a wonderful way to celebrate creativity, inclusion, and the talents of our members! ❤️
